Forthing V9 Wins the “Annual Highway NOA Excellence Award” at the China Intelligent Driving Test Championship

From December 19 to 21, 2024, the China Intelligent Driving Test Finals were grandly held at the Wuhan Intelligent Connected Vehicle Testing Ground. Over 100 competing teams, 40 brands, and 80 vehicles participated in a fierce competition in the field of intelligent automotive driving. Amid such intense rivalry, the Forthing V9, as Dongfeng Forthing’s masterpiece after years of dedication to intelligence and connectivity, won the “Annual Highway NOA Excellence Award” with its exceptional core capabilities.

As a leading event in the domestic intelligent vehicle field, the finals showcased the latest products and technologies in intelligent driving, conducting authoritative and professional live tests and evaluations. The competition included categories such as autonomous driving, intelligent systems, urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot), vehicle-to-everything (V2X) safety, and a “Track Day” event for smart driving vehicles. In the Highway NOA category, the Forthing V9, equipped with a class-leading Highway NOA intelligent navigation assistance system, leveraged multi-sensor perception algorithms and decision-making algorithms to identify environmental information and develop reasonable driving strategies. With high-precision mapping, the vehicle demonstrated exceptional flexibility in handling complex highway scenarios, akin to a skilled driver. It was capable of global path planning, intelligent lane changes, overtaking, truck avoidance, and efficient highway cruising—demonstrating a series of high-precision operations. This perfectly met the competition’s high demands for intelligent driving capabilities in highway environments, including vehicle algorithms, perception systems, and comprehensive response abilities, ultimately securing an easy victory over numerous well-known brand models in the same group. This performance showcased the vehicle’s stability and breakthroughs that exceeded industry standards.

The intelligent driving team has continuously refined their work in the intelligent driving field, accumulating 83 proprietary patents on the Forthing V9. This was not the team’s first award; earlier, at the 2024 World Intelligent Driving Challenge, the Forthing V9, which had received the team’s dedication and wisdom, won both the “Luxury Intelligent Electric MPV Overall Champion” and the “Best Navigation Assistance Champion” awards, further proving the team’s outstanding strength in automotive intelligent driving.

The reason why the Forthing V9 can predict road conditions like an experienced driver with exceptional visual and perceptual capabilities lies in the team’s extensive efforts on safety and stability during the development phase. Behind this achievement are countless field measurements and calibrations, rigorous data analyses, and repeated software tests and revisions. The engineers poured endless effort into these tasks, constantly experimenting and correcting, embodying the essence of craftsmanship and a relentless pursuit of perfection.

From the proposal of the passenger vehicle Highway Navigation Assistance (NOA) system project, through the project approval, the development of the Forthing V9 and Forthing S7 models, and the intelligent driving system, to winning national and even world-level awards, the journey was incredibly challenging. Yet, every step taken by the intelligent driving team was both arduous and solid, highlighting the team’s ambition and determination in the intelligent driving field.
